Love to Rent Week returns to redefine what renting means today

The rise of Build to Rent in the UK can be traced back to the aftermath of the 2008 global financial crisis, which reshaped the property market and created new demand for high-quality, professionally managed rental homes. What began as a city-focused initiative, first taking root in London, has now expanded nationwide, transforming not just where people rent, but how they rent. Today, the sector’s growth shows no signs of slowing and encompasses homes for everyone from young professionals, key workers, families and downsizers, stories that will all be highlighted during Love to Rent Week, taking place 29th September - 3rd October 2025.

According to the British Property Federation there are now over 132,000 completed Build to Rent homes in the UK, with a total pipeline exceeding 293,000 homes, marking a 12% year-on-year increase. This rapid growth highlights how Build to Rent has moved from a niche market to a mainstream housing choice.

Modern renting is increasingly driven by choice. The choice to decide how you want to live, the choice to have flexibility and security, the choice to avoid the hassle of maintenance, the choice to live within a thriving community and the choice to have more control over your lifestyle. At the heart of enabling this choice from the very first search is Love to Rent, the UK’s first and leading dedicated platform for Build to Rent homes.

“Love to Rent Week is about showing that renting today is all about choice, flexibility and community,” says Anne-Marie Brown, Founder of Love to Rent. “Modern renting is evolving, with new offerings available for every stage of life. During the Love to Rent Week, we will be  sharing interesting customer stories, spotlighting developments and highlighting new innovations in the sector, sharing with our audience the options available to them whatever stage they are at.”

Since its launch, Love to Rent has been on a mission to educate renters and keep the market informed about the latest developments in the sector. It’s not just about listing homes, it’s about providing knowledge, building trust and ensuring potential residents understand the unique benefits that Build to Rent offers compared with traditional private renting.

One of the key ways Love to Rent achieves this is through its annual Love to Rent Week. This dedicated campaign brings together customers, developers, operators, investors and the media to shine a spotlight on the sector’s rapid growth, showcase new developments, highlight innovations and share expert insights. For potential renters, it’s a chance to explore the breadth of options available, learn what to expect from modern renting and discover how Build to Rent homes are designed to meet their needs. For the industry, it’s an opportunity to engage audiences, celebrate best practice and strengthen connections with local and regional communities.

During Love to Rent Week, a range of themes will be explored to raise awareness and enhance the customer experience. The spotlight will be on the key qualities that make Build to Rent stand out, such as community, convenience, flexibility and sustainability. As the sector continues to evolve, the week will also highlight Single-Family Rental (SFR), Co-Living and Later Living, ensuring potential renters understand the breadth of choice available to them.

The campaign also enables targeted regional PR outreach, allowing renters to discover high-quality Build to Rent options in their local area and giving local media the opportunity to showcase developments that contribute to housing choice and community growth.

Previous Love to Rent Weeks have delivered exceptional results, driving significant increases in both website traffic and engagement across all social channels. By combining interesting case studies, informative blogs and engaging multimedia content, the campaign has reached a wide audience and generated impressive results.

This year promises to build on that momentum, offering customers direct access to homes, stories and advice, while giving developers and operators a platform to connect with engaged audiences. As the Build to Rent sector continues to diversify and grow, Love to Rent Week will remain a key fixture in the housing calendar, highlighting innovation, promoting transparency and ensuring renters are informed to make decisions that best suit their situation.
